How much does the course cost?

How long is the course?

This is a 16 hour course held over two days from 8am – 5pm each day.

Where are the classes held?

Courses are held at host facilities across the panhandle (between Pensacola and Tallahassee) see our class location page for more information or click on our contact page if you are interested in hosting a class at your facility in exchange for complimentary tuition for up to 2 students.

How often are classes held?

At least once per month across the panhandle.

What do I need to bring to class?

A calculator, pen or pencil, highlighter

What comes with the course?

The following materials are included in your tuition fee: NSPF® Pool/Spa Operator™ Handbook, Worksheets to help students understand/solve problems in class, during homework and exam.

What do I need to score in order to pass the exam?

Students must score a minimum of 75% of questions correctly to pass. The exam is 60 questions so this means students need to get at least 45 questions correct. Exam is open book, open note/worksheets, open calculator and students will have 3 hours to complete the exam.

How long is this certificate good for?

Certified Pool/Spa Operator® certification is valid for a period of 5 years.

How long does it take to get certification?

Students will receive exam results on the same day they take their exam via phone or email. Exams are mailed to The National Swimming Pool Foundation who will create and mail a certificate to your mailing address as quickly as possible.

What if I don’t pass the class on the first try?

While it is our goal to give every student the tools/preparation need to passes the exam on the first try, not everyone does. Students wishing to re-take exam can do so for only $70 at next available class.
